When you inquire about or receive services from Wigs Plus Vets, we may collect the following information:

VA Identification: Last 4 digits of Social Security Number (the standard VA patient identifier used across all VA facilities)
Healthcare Information: Hair loss condition, VA Medical Center location, and information related to your cranial prosthesis fitting
Communication Preferences: Your preferences for receiving text messages and email communications from us
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely for the following purposes:
To help you access your VA cranial prosthesis benefit under 38 CFR § 17.3230
To coordinate with VA Prosthetics staff to process your benefit request
To schedule and conduct consultations and fittings
To communicate with you about your appointment and services
To fulfill our contractual obligations to the Department of Veterans Affairs
Information We DO NOT Do
We DO NOT sell your personal information to third parties
We DO NOT share your information with marketing companies
We DO NOT use your information for purposes unrelated to your VA benefit
We DO NOT disclose your information except as required to process your VA benefit or as required by law
Information Sharing
We share your information only with VA Prosthetics staff as necessary to process your cranial prosthesis benefit request. This is the sole purpose for which we collect identifying information such as the last 4 digits of your SSN. We do not share your information with any other third parties unless required by law.
How We Protect Your Information
As a VA contractor, we maintain strict data protection practices consistent with HIPAA and VA privacy requirements:
Information is stored in secure, access-controlled electronic systems
Access to veteran information is limited to authorized personnel only
We comply with VA Directive 6500 regarding information security
We maintain Business Associate Agreement standards as required by VA contracts
